I graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Espana, Manila, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts. The program provides the students with trainings in communication as an art, science, and service to the community. It teaches the ethical significance of, as well as the responsibility involved in the use of print, radio, television, audio-visuals, and film.
Needless to say, I had one heck of a time in college! We were always on the go – to do research in the library, write scripts, create advertising, marketing and PR plans for our ‘clients’, shoot TV shows, documentaries, and films. Oh and don’t forget about the thesis – a year and a half’s worth of continuous revisions. Whew! Every day was a rush. Our weekends were dedicated to our course requirements – we did not have a moment’s peace. But it was all worth it in the end. We learned so much from our professors, who not only shared their expertise on their respective fields, but imparted with us their wisdom. We all learned from each other. It was a very enjoyable time of my life, that plus my friends and classmates make one hell of a college experience I’ll never forget.
