Or should I say, award. My good friend Nica got nominated for an award, the Liebster Award – given to bloggers with less than 200 followers. I’d say this is a good encouragement because recognition pushes us to do more – since we are bloggers, awards and nominations inspire us to write and share more to our dear readers. This is also a very good avenue to meet and promote other fellow bloggers!
Liebster is a German word which means sweetest, nicest, kindest, dearest, etc.
Liebster Blog Award! Ich Liebe Dich!
To show our appreciation, here is what we have to do:
- Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions for the people you’ve tagged to answer.
- Choose 11 bloggers and link them in your post.
- Go to their page and tell them.
I am going to break number two, not for the kicks, but because I only have 5 followers, and one of them is Nica. I am also pretty sure three of my followers have more than 200 followers, so I am doing this for pleasure and appreciation of the award. I shall definitely tag 11 people when I have more followers!
Here are Nica’s questions for me:
- What is your favorite book series?
The series is just… it’s a part of me.
This series has taught me a lot about friendship, all kinds of love, of bravery – off all the important things. Everybody in the series is a part of me. I have read all seven books over again, and still feel all the emotions I felt when I first read the books. The series has also gotten me through tough times – I turn to them for entertainment, companionship and reminder when I am blue or forgetting essential things. I also get entertained a lot. 🙂 Hooray for J.K. Rowling!
2. If you could star in any movie, what would the film and your character be?
The Historian, as Helen Rossi
To you perceptive reader, I bequeath my history…
Sorry to pre-empt, haha. This is the only movie I want to see myself in, as Helen Rossi. She is an intelligent, witty and strong woman. She is also very determined and very stubborn. She’s kind, open to possibilities, and just… an amazing woman. I can’t blame Paul for falling in love with her. Yeah, no spoilers here! Read the book please and find out for yourself why Helen Rossi is great. 🙂 Besides, I love the myth. 😉
3. If you are given one week to live, how will you spend it?
If I am given a week to live, I will spend it with my family, my loved ones, just doing things we love. If we could sneak in a short travel, why not? But to be with them is the most important thing. Oh and also write. Try to squeeze in a sort of a memoir, a history.
4. Blue or Purple?
The colour blue. Why? Well, because it’s calming. Also:
In many diverse cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away.
Blue conveys importance and confidence without being somber or sinister, hence the power suit of the corporate world and the uniforms of many police officers. Long considered acorporate color, blue, especially medium and darker shades, is associated with intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism.
Just as seeing red alludes to the strong emotions invoked by the color red, feeling blue or getting the blues represents the extremes of the calm feelings associated with this color, i.e. sadness or depression, lack of strong (violent) emotion. Dark blue is sometimes seen as staid or stodgy — old-fashioned.
5. What’s the most embarrassing thing you have done in school?
The most embarrassing thing I have done in school happened in our Introduction to Philosophy class. See, I was eating mojos and this classmate of mine insisted on passing him the box, I kept resisting – he was holding the other end of the box and we were tugging at it, not realising we were standing up already. The professor looked at us and said, “Don’t throw a party in my class.”
6. If you could write and publish a book, what will it be about?
It will be about a love tragedy with some sci-fi elements.
7. iPhone or Android?
I am actually using BlackBerry right now, but since I am given only two options… iPhone, it is!
8. What is your favourite coffee shop and usual order there?
My quick, to-go choice of drink is a Grande Cappuccino from Starbucks. Why? Because it is easily the most accessible coffee shop in our area.
If we are talking about a lingering, cosier stay though… I’d go to SubSpace, this artsy little coffee shop somewhere in Ortigas. Nica, we definitely have to visit this!
Look at that!
I will come back for you, SubSpace!
9. If you will be given one chance to change a historical event, what would it be?
This should never have happened.
If I could change a historical event, it would be the World War II. I’ll stop the war. Oh how powerful would I be, eh? It’s a terrifying thought, all that power.
10. Real books or eBooks?
Books! You can touch, smell…
I love the feel of books. I love the way they smell. I love holding on in my hand. Most of my books are used or second hand; I only feel the need to by new ones if it is absolutely necessary.
11. What inspires you to write?
Melancholy, or deep sadness inspires me to write. I feel that immense sadness is a very complex feeling with a lot of textures. It is a very interesting emotion to explore and write about.
There you have it, dear reader! I have answered the questions. 🙂 Thank you Nica for nominating me for this award, and to you, dear reader, for seeing this post through.
Feel free to drop a line! 🙂 (and follow!)
